Worth It: No.6 Lined Clog Boots (2024)

I’m a serious shoe collector…and a believer that the shoe makes the outfit. So I keep plenty of shoes in my regular rotation. I rarely wear the same pair over and over, and I have the worst time packing because I want to bring ALL the shoes. I haven’t had to answer one of those deserted island questions in a long time, but if I did I’m sure I’d pick a pair of shoes to bring along, haha. It’s a true passion.

But…and you knew there was gonna be a but…there is ONE winter shoe I’m obsessed with and wear all season long, over and over and over: the No.6 lined clog boot.

I had been waffling over purchasing a pair of these boots for years after my friend in NYC raved about them…because of cost and fit. But I finally discovered last year that I just needed to go up a FULL size and bam. Perfect winter shoe FOUND. You’ve seen me rave about them before and not long ago I did a fun post on styling them up.

We like to talk a lot about cost-per-wear around here. Cost-per-wear is simply the amount you paid for an item divided by the number of times you’ve worn that item, and it lets you know how ‘worth it’ something really is. Unfortunately, I didn’t take an actual count of how many times I slipped my tootsies into these boots last winter but…it was a lot.

Like I said, I have plenty of other shoes, but when it comes to cold wintery mornings, what did I want to wear? Yep, these. They are like a much more chic version of UGG boots in all the best ways. If you’ve ever had a pair of UGG boots you know how enticing they are to slip on for every occasion, but they don’t hit the mark style-wise for every occasion. And that, my friends, is why I love the No.6 clog boots. Still chic and stylish, but oh-so-cozy on your toe-sies. Yes, please let me stop with the rhyming now, kthx.

No.6 Clog Boots: Chic In All Black

These black shearling-lined clog boots are the most recent pair I’ve added to my winter wardrobe. They’re already a real go-to. I can’t wait to break them out for winter date nights, dinners out, and just as an everyday option, too. But I do love how they feel more upscale than the taupe pair above. The heel is still super-walkable because of the platform base but adds a little dressier feel to the boot. I am adoring them paired with my coated joggers and a cozy ivory sweater. They’d also be cute with black jeans or leggings.

No.6 Clog Boots In Gorgeous Taupe

This was my first pair of No.6 clog boots, and the pair I couldn’t even count how many times I’ve worn. So cozy and so wonderful. They tend to sell out very quickly, but you can find a few pairs in the same colowrway here. (I’ll pop back to keep links updated and check restocks!)

You can sometimes find some of these on eBay, too. My exact pair are from last year and have the nice tread sole, but that does make them a little more utilitarian looking. That same sole right now is offered in a pretty warm tan.

How I Care For My No.6 Clog Boots

Like I mentioned above, I’ve only had the black leather pair for a bit now, but being leather on the exterior and a dark color I know they’ll wear well, even in our wet Portland weather. For the lighter pair, I used a suede protectant (this one to be exact) and they’ve held up great. No stains or discoloration besides some typical scuffs on the toes. These shoes are so well-built — and to last.

The boots come in gorgeous rich neutral shades that go with everything in your closet. If you wear more lighter denim, the lighter pairs work SO beautifully with faded jeans. The brown pairs would be really versatile with a variety of pants or jean shades. The black are just lovely and chic with everything from black denim to leggings. Don’t forget though…size up a full size!

Here’s to cozy cute winter shoes that last and tick all the boxes!
