How old The Summer I Turned Pretty are compared to their characters (2025)

We're completely obsessed with season two of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The hit Prime Video series based on Jenny Han's best-selling books has romance, heartbreak, female friendships, Taylor Swift songs and more. Seriously, you need to watch it!

The first five episodes are here and while we've been watching, we couldn't help but wonder how old the cast are in real life and if they're really in school or uni. So, here are the ages of the cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty compared to their characters.

Belly, played by Lola Tung, is 16-year-old in season one so in season two, we can safely assume that she is 17. But, in real life, Lola is 20-years-old. Not too far off!

Belly and Jeremiah are supposed to be the same age in the series, meaning he is 17-years-old. But, in real life, Gavin Casalegno is 23-years-old making him six years older than his character.

We couldn't help but think that Conrad looks a little older than he is supposed to be in the show, as he is in his first year of uni (or as the Americans call it, college) meaning he is 18 or 19. But, he is played by Christopher Briney who is 25-years-old in real life.

In season two, Belly’s older brother, Steven, has just graduated high school making him 18-years-old. In real life, there is a five-year age gap as Sean Kaufman is 23-years-old.

Belly and Taylor are the same age in the show, making her 17-years-old in season two. Rain Spencer, who plays her, is reported to be 24-years-old making her six years older than her character.

Series two newbie Skye is played by Elsie Fisher, who is 20-years-old in real life. We're not sure exactly how old Skye is supposed to be in the series, but they seem to be a little older than Elsie.
