GEC Summary
The Easter Egg shouldn't be confused with other eggs that are sometimes involved in later RuneScape Easter events. This egg was dropped during the 2002 event. The 2002 Easter Egg is edible and heals health, though a player would have to be either crazy or stupid to eat an item that sometimes plays in the 100 million GP territory. Just for the record, if the Egg is eaten it will heal 120 health.
Like other edible rares, there is a warning message to pops up if a player tries to eat the Easter Egg. But there are NO warning when entering the Mort Myre swamp. The Ghasts there, who rot food, do not care if the food is cooked meat or a super rare and expensive Easter Egg. If it's in a players inventory it is in as much danger and any other food item in the swamp.
Like other rare items, the Easter Egg does sometimes crop up in RuneScape story lines. In the 2011 Easter Event, Jack Frost commented that players don't even eat Easter eggs and would rather just store them in banks year after year.

WHAT IS RUNESCAPE? RuneScape is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) created by Andrew Gower and operated by Jagex Ltd.
