Easy Candied Pecans Recipe

We grew up getting these crunchy Cinnamon Glazed Nuts from our good family friend, Susan, every December, along with a plate full of other homemade candies. She also always included her Peanut Butter Balls (or Buckeye candies) too.

Aren’t these homemade treats the best kinds of gifts? We love delivering Grandma’s Chocolate Fantasy Fudge, Dainty Log Butter Cookies, Caramel Puff Corn, and Grandma’s Caramel Corn.

Honestly, I avoided the candied pecans in my younger years and went for the buckeyes (peanut butter balls) and other chocolate treats. However, I grew to appreciate these and now our mom has to hide them from us if she wants any for herself!

Prefer peanuts instead? Try these Candied Peanuts made the same way but without the cinnamon!

Cinnamon Glazed Nuts Ingredient List

These candied pecan treats are super easy – only 5 ingredients! And this recipe is a breeze to double (or triple or quadruple) for those holiday gatherings or gift exchanges!

  • Egg White
  • Whole Pecans
  • Granulated Sugar (white sugar)
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Salt

I love giving southern cinnamon sugared pecans as gifts for the holidays. It’s super simple to do. Put them in a cute holiday tin or a mason jar with a cute ribbon and you have a gift from the heart. Watch out because everyone will expect them year after year.

Be careful when you are making these because they smell (and taste) just like those irresistible, warm, crunchy nuts at the mall kiosks (also called Bavarian nuts). You must have a distribution plan in place or risk eating them all fresh from the oven! If we could bottle this delicious, cinnamon aroma, we’d be millionaires.

Kitchen Utensils Useful for Making Candied Pecans with Egg White

  • Hand Mixer or Stand Mixer -Beat the egg whites with mixer until frothy.
  • Large Sheet Pan (with edges) -Spread out the candied pecans on sheet pan during baking. Edges keep the candied nuts from falling off the pan.
  • Spatula – Stir and flip the sugared pecans during the baking process.
  • Parchment Paper – Cool sugared pecans on parchment paper.
